WHO SUPPORTS SHAPING PATTERNS?
Shaping Patterns is an EU-funded strategic partnership project under the Erasmus+ programme's school track

Shaping Patterns

We live in a changing world with global challenges such as the climate crisis, unrest and rising inequality. This can cause concern among children and young people, but also an opportunity to get involved in working towards a more sustainable future for all.

How do we support children and young people's world of reflection, imagination and creativity?

How do we create space for engagement, freedom of expression and action, and how do we strengthen the belief that there is value in reaching out to the world and standing together across generations and nations?

These are some of the questions that have prompted Kulturprinsen and five other cultural development partners in Europe to explore the potential of art for educational and didactic work on sustainability - from a social, economic and environmental perspective.

The goal of Shaping Patterns is:
- To strengthen interdisciplinary exchange of experience and collaboration between primary school practice and professional actors within art and culture - and thereby create new, versatile and creative methods for the school's work with sustainability and the fight against climate change.

- To activate children and young people's critical thinking, imagination and courage to act through aesthetic processes and engaging art interventions that create new perspectives on the world we live in.

App with artistic experiments
Based on experiences and results from local activities in the individual partner countries, the project partners are developing an app that can be used by professionals around the world in pedagogical and didactic work with sustainability and global challenges. The app contains various examples of how to involve children and young people in artistic experiments and create new ways of reflective, social and physical interaction with the world.
