Find your next artist for programmes in day care and school in KLC Viborgs Kunstnerbank

A collaboration between a professional artist and educators and teachers in schools and day care centres allows for exciting, student-involving activities and aesthetic learning processes.

In cooperation with Cultural Learning Centre Viborg (KLC Viborg), Kulturprinsen is continuously helping to create a framework for more children to meet an artist. In KLC Viborg digital artist bank teachers and educators can explore a wide range of local artists, performers, musicians, writers, photographers, architects, designers and more. Here you can get concrete ideas on how to establish a collaboration.

Economy
When you find an artist through the artist bank, the school/institution/project holder will be reimbursed 50% of the artist's fee, up to a maximum of 5000 DKK per institution/calendar year. The institution has to pay the transport fee to the external actor. The purpose of the fee is to attract local artists.

The artist is paid 300 DKK per hour plus 300 DKK for preparation hours. The number of hours for both teaching and preparation is agreed individually from programme to programme. The agreed number of hours for both preparation and teaching is written on the contract, which is sent to KLC Viborg after the course.

Process types
The duration of the courses can vary from 2 to 15 hours. See more about the courses below.

The practical
Once you have found an artist who matches your wishes and ideas, you contact them to find out if dates, timetables, content, type of course and expectations can lead to a fruitful collaboration. You then draw up a written contract with the artist - at least 3 weeks before the start of the project. Once the project has taken place and the school/institution has paid the full amount, the invoice is sent to KLC Viborg, which then pays 50% of the fee (maximum 5000 DKK) to the school/institution.

Artists' bank types

Art Experience

Here the artist delivers a one-off art experience into the school/institution. This type of programme has the character of an 'event'. The artist comes to the institution once and delivers an experience to the children, which the staff have to prepare and follow up with the children. When booking, the artist can help with suggestions for preparation and aftercare. Quite brief and dialogue-based. For example, are there words and concepts the children should know? Are there working methods that should be known? Can the children create a product afterwards?

Art Magic I

The artist draws on the immediate environment of the school/institution and helps the children to see their surroundings and institution in new ways. Part of this type of programme involves the institution working independently on the project between visits by the artist.

The process can look like this:
Preparation/agreement - visit - work in the institution - visit - work in the institution.
The length of the project may vary according to the art form and content. The time required can therefore be between 4 and 10 hours.
