Art and culture in the everyday lives of young people
PlayArt is a nationwide boost for the 0-6 age range. We build bridges and create encounters between children, day-care workers, educators, institution managers, researchers, students, artists and cultural mediators. Through new, close-knit communities, a research-based experience base is created for how we can work together across professions to create the highest possible quality and inclusion when children locally meet artists, cultural institutions and cultural mediators in day care.
PlayArt brings the youngest closer to art and culture and researches what the encounter with art, culture and aesthetic learning processes in everyday life means for children's play and education as well as for the adults around them. LegeKunst is a co-creative practice in close cooperation with teacher training and thus also has an impact on the everyday lives of future teachers.
PlayArt provides a skills boost for children's everyday adults through the encounter with arts and culture in everyday life. With action learning as a common method and through research created together with practice, we push for 'care' and get new pedagogical practice, where we promote and create greater quality in children's play and education based on art, cultural activities and experiences.
PLAY ART IS...
- A nationwide effort based on 20,000 children's co-creation and encounter with art and culture in everyday life and day care.
- Skills development of 1000 educators, artists and cultural mediators through committed, cross-cutting partnerships.
- Focus on play, education and new communities with concrete inspiration for the work with the Strengthened Pedagogical Curriculum through a new function in the municipality as PlayArt supervisor.
- Collaboration, networking and knowledge sharing with 18 municipalities across the country, anchored in 5 teacher education programmes in all regions with 7 co-creative research projects.

NATIONAL PLAY DAYS 2021
Every year during the project period, we gather to share knowledge and experiences in working with PlayArt. How do you think we are doing in promoting play and education through art and culture among the youngest? What have been the star moments, challenges and surprises?
The conference took place in November both physically in Aalborg and online as a live stream.
