Who is Kulturprinsen?

Kulturprinsen is a development centre for child and youth culture, which creates projects, builds interdisciplinary partnerships, networks and communities in Denmark and abroad. We are a locally anchored, independent institution in Viborg Municipality with a global outlook.

Based on UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Kulturprinsen works to ensure the right of all children to encounter art and culture in their everyday lives.

Kulturprinsen is a national voice for children's and youth culture, which through art and culture will strengthen courage, imagination, life skills, sustainable education, action and cultural identity in children and young people.

Look how simple it can be when playing and experimenting with art 🥳 💛Here's a great everyday example of how far you can go with the colour yellow. Just by exploring the familiar surroundings of the nursery and using a good dose of imagination in combination with some of the ordinary things you already have around the house. The story below is from Børnehuset Troldehøj, which is part of the project LegeKunstGødning - a collaboration with the best experiences from KUNSTGØDNING and LegeKunst, in a collaboration between Kulturskoler i Nordjylland, UCN, Børns Møde Med Kunsten and Kulturprinsen.1TP7Play art #he Prince of Culture 1TP7Play art fertilizer ... How can the starting point for experimentation and play be created from art, architecture and historical finds?💭✨We can do this with PlayArt Cards, which are postcards with images of art, architecture or historical artefacts on one side and inspiration for play and activities inspired by the image on the other. For example, you might be invited to explore the room at a snail's pace. Listen for something living inside the wall, in the door, under the floor or in your hand. Or turn something as mundane as a radiator into a magical creature. It's about setting off fun, playful and experimental investigations based on the work on the front page 🧐👣💡The idea behind LegeKunst Kort is lecturer Hanne Kusk. She wanted to create a simple and humorous opportunity for children to encounter different forms of art in a playful and inspiring way.PlayArt Maps are developed individually for each region in cooperation with a cultural institution in the area. The cards will be distributed free of charge to institutions participating in LegeKunst in the different regions. It is a way to inspire continued play with art and culture - and as an invitation to take a closer look at the cultural institution they have been developed with. After the card is used with a group of children in the day care centre, it goes home with a child. That way, a little piece of PlayArt goes right into the home 🥰 1TP6Play 1TP6Modtilcreativity #he Prince of Culture 1TP6Children's culture ... See moreSee less

When art and culture put global roots in children's school life 🌍🍀🫶How do we learn to understand and relate to the reality we are all part of? What does the world call for in terms of action and solutions? And how do we engage children in such big questions - in a way that strengthens their curiosity, imagination, critical reflection and sense of agency?💭Together with inspiring partners from five different European countries, we developed this in the Erasmus+ project Global Roots , where we an EU-supported strategic partnership project under the Erasmus+ schools track, targeting mainly middle school children. The project is about giving space to children's own way of seeing and relating to the world. In creative and artistic processes, facilitated by professional artists.Project partners: Kulturprinsen (Denmark)Children's Encounter with the Arts (Denmark)Villa Zebra (Netherlands)Spark The Movement/Circulair Friesland (Holland)Kaboca Puppet Theatre (Hungary)Kulturskolan Örnsköldsvik (Sweden)Sideviews (Germany)Watch this documentary and feel the spirit of Global Roots 🫶🌍#kulturprinsen #modtilcreativitet #globalroots #børnsmødemedkunsten #villazebra #sparkthemovement #circulairfriesland #kabocapuppettheatre #kulturskolanörnsköldsvik #sideviews ...
