Description

In 2017, we celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, and your class now has the opportunity to participate in the Reformation project "Viborg Vågner" and the big closing party of the Reformation celebration at the Cathedral Square in Viborg on 31 October 2017.

Inspired by the process of change that Martin Luther helped to create 500 years ago, all children in middle school are invited to formulate and communicate a wish for change in the world, so that children, young people and the elderly in Viborg and the world wake up to the children's wishes for the future.

The project offers both short and long class sessions, with the possibility of a workshop with artist Susanne Ahrenkiel or your own local event. Just sign up for the activities that fit into your time. Common to all is that you will work with Luther, the Theses and the Band Noise in a lesson that builds on the same basic idea: What can articulating and communicating a desire for change mean for a child's world?

Activity
All classes are invited to participate at Domkirkepladsen in Viborg on 31/10. Here you will hang your theses, thesis sculptures and burn your banns, as Martin Luther did. The number of participants is limited, so it's first come first served!!

Preparation
The inspirational material (which you can download at the bottom of the page) is aimed at both the classes that do their thesis and tape in workshops and the classes that work independently of the workshops.

Purpose

The "Viborg Vågner" project is a practical and creative learning process based on Martin Luther's hanging of the Theses in 1517 and his burning of the bull that the then Pope subsequently issued against him. The project aims to respond to students' openness and curiosity about the world, put into perspective with the process of change that Martin Luther helped to bring about 500 years ago.

The project can be based on Danish, Art or Christianity and offers a practice-oriented approach to working with a central event in Christianity and our common cultural history.

The project is designed for individual or interdisciplinary courses between Danish, visual arts and Christianity, in which the pupil, on the basis of knowledge about an event in the history of Christianity, must communicate his or her own thoughts using brainstorming and mind mapping, and then express his or her own ideas and statements visually.
